BIO
Brittni Strickland is an artist based in Kansas City, working primarily with acrylics and oil pastels on canvas and watercolor paper.
Brittni was born into a family of talented artists, though none pursued it professionally. From them and with them, she learned an appreciation for art ranging from Van Gogh and Monet to the canvases hung in local coffee shops, from florals to Western scapes. She still carries this with her and now realizes this is the seed for all of her work.
Brittni currently resides in the Kansas City area (originally from Missouri, she now lives just across the state line) with her husband, two kids and rescue dog, Buttercup. It's here, on the edge of the midwest, where Western prairies meet city life, that she finds her inspiration in the quiet moments of an ordinary life - the rolling grasses of the Flint Hills, dotted with cattle and sunflowers; the golden slant of August light, or the vibrant emerald green of a butter dish against pale butter. Through intuitive layering and blending, she honors these moments, gathering them up, capturing their beauty and letting them linger.

STATEMENT FROM BRITTNI
Hi, welcome. I'm Brittni and I'm so happy you are here.
I painted sporadically over the years, thought it wasn't meant for me or that I wasn't good enough. I let my self-doubt lead, tell me that I didn't deserve what I wanted, but I finally decided to just go for it. I am drawn to capturing the magic of quiet moments in an ordinary life, through the delicate layering of color, strokes and mediums.

I hope that you find something you like, something you want to hang in your home, or something that just feels like your vibe.
But if you don’t, that’s ok, too.
I’ll still be over here painting and sharing my work. Whether you stay for a look around or continue on, thank you for stopping by.
